Fawn Nguyen has a great way of showing fraction division with rectangles. It’s not based on the method Justin and I described (“Think One”) but on finding a common denominator. Just as 18 apples divided by 3 apples is 18÷3=6 groups, so it’s also true that 18/5 (18 pieces) divided by 3/5 (3 pieces) is 18÷3=6, as long as the pieces are the same size (common denominator):
